Developing a Budget
As your organization considers the possibility of becoming a Grassroots
Arts agency, you will want to develop a budget. The first step in
developing a budget is to fill out the GAP Budget Form. This chart
will show you
- The amount of funding your agency will have available to sub-grant
- The amount of funding available to your agency for administrative
costs
- The amount of funding available to your agency for regional
development
Follow these steps to complete the GAP Budget Form provided above:
- In column A list the counties for the proposed GAP Region, alphabetically.
- In column B write the administrative allocation for the county. (Equals up to 15% of total county allocation.) If the GAP Agency retains less than 15%, list the administrative allocation taken and please make a note of the percentage retained in the Budget Breakdown.
- In column C write the total re-granted funds for the county (equal to the county allocation minus administrative allocation.)
- Column D should equal the total county allocation as determined by the GA General Assembly (B+C=D).
- RDF must equal the number of counties in the GAP Region times $600.
- On line 13 enter your GCA GAP contract amount (11 + 12)
- On lines 14 through 19 enter your anticipated expenses for administering the GAP program
- On line 22 enter the total Cash Match (must be equal to 50% of the re-granted GAP funds).
This will give you the total amount of funding available from the
Georgia Council for the Arts for your Grassroots Arts Agency. These
are
the figures that you will record on your Grassroots Agency Application
under Projected Contract Amount.
Then estimate any expenses that you feel would be necessary for
your
organization to administer the Grassroots Arts Program. These are
the
figures that you will record on your Grassroots Agency Application
under
Administrative Expenses Breakdown.
