THE GRASSROOTS ARTS PROGRAM (GAP) is a decentralized funding program which began in 1993.  The Georgia General Assembly appropriates funds annually for each of the 159 counties in Georgia.

Georgia Council for the Arts directs the Grassroots Arts Program through regional GAP Agencies.

Georgia Council for the Arts is considering options for restructuring the GAP program for FY2009.  Meetings will be held with GAP Administrators in the fall to explore options and solicit feedback.

GAP Agency applications will not be posted until a program restructure has been thoroughly reviewed and further decisions made.
