| In
order to help us demonstrate the impact of public funding
for the arts, our funded organizations must help us in publicizing
programs and organizations that are being funded by the Georgia
Council for the Arts. Your help in acknowledging our funding
of your programs will be of benefit to everyone.
All Georgia Council for the Arts funded organizations are required to credit both the
Georgia Council for the Arts and the National Endowment for
the Arts in all grant related publicity. Panels take into
consideration your organization’s history of compliance
with the administrative terms of agency funding when reviewing
your organization’s application. Failure to comply with
all terms of this agreement will jeopardize future funding.

OTHER WAYS TO INFORM PEOPLE ABOUT THE
IMPORTANCE OF PUBLIC FUNDING
- Write an opinion piece or letter to the editor crediting
the Council for their support of your program
- Have the children that attend your education programs
make posters and write letters to your legislator or the
Governor thanking the Council for its support.
- Invite the Council’s Executive Director, Chairman
or Council members to speak at one of your important events
- Write an article about the importance of GCA funding
and the difference in makes in your organization
- Send a letter home to parents from the principal or executive
director explaining the work of the council and the programs
that are supported by the council in your school or organization.
- Send a press release about your grant award and include
a quote from your legislator about the importance of GCA
funding to helping you i.e. reach new audiences, foster
community development, provide the quality programming,
or develop effective arts education programming.
State funding for
the arts has become vulnerable because the public does not know
about the impact these funds have on their lives, communities
and arts organizations. Help our funding by helping to inform
your audiences and the public of its importance to your organization
and programming.
